Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority rejects Goobit AB's MiCA application – Company evaluates path forward
Goobit Group AB (publ) ("Goobit" or the "Company") announces that the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) has rejected the application of its subsidiary Goobit AB for authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider under the MiCA regulation.
The Company is currently analysing the decision and its implications, and is evaluating available courses of action, including the possibility of appealing the decision. Further information will be provided once the ongoing analysis has been completed.
"We note Finansinspektionen's decision and will now analyse it carefully. Goobit and BTCX have since our founding in 2011 built our business on regulatory compliance, customer protection and long-term trust. Our ambition to operate within a clearly regulated European framework remains, and we will now evaluate our regulatory and strategic options. Regardless of the outcome of this decision, our work to develop BTCX as a serious Nordic operator within Bitcoin and financial services continues" says Christian Ander, CEO of Goobit Group AB.
