Goobit proceeds with its appeal following Finansinspektionen's decision

Finansinspektionen has today rejected Goobit AB's request that the authority voluntarily amend its decision of 2 July 2026 to reject the company's application for MiCA authorization.

In today's decision, Finansinspektionen assesses that the handling of the matter has followed applicable rules and that there are no grounds to amend the previous rejection decision pursuant to Section 38 of the Swedish Administrative Procedure Act (förvaltningslagen).

Today's decision does not mean that the Administrative Court has reviewed Goobit's objections or the substantive issues raised in the appeal. Goobit is therefore proceeding with its appeal and maintains its claim that the decision should be set aside and the company granted authorization, or alternatively that the matter be referred back to Finansinspektionen for a full and renewed review.

– "Obviously it is a disappointment that Finansinspektionen has chosen not to amend its decision. At the same time, today's decision is a procedural step and not a court review of the issues we have raised.
We maintain that Goobit's application should be assessed based on our actual operations, our limited range of services, and the control environment that the company has built and continues to strengthen. After many years in the Swedish bitcoin industry, I feel a strong sense of responsibility to ensure these issues are properly and objectively examined. We are therefore continuing the process in a constructive and responsible manner. At the same time, we are transparent about the fact that neither the outcome nor the timeline of the court process can be assessed with certainty," says Christian Ander, CEO of Goobit Group AB.

Goobit will inform the market of material developments in the process.
